Part Two:
Preparation for Your Tandem Skydive
Now what are you going to wear for your tandem skydive?
Wear tennis shoes if you have them.
If you have boots and they have hooks for the laces, the drop zone will put duct tape on the hooks.
The clothes you wear really do not matter as long as they are comfortable.
I always tell students to wear comfortable jeans and a tee shirt and bring along a sweatshirt because sometimes it is a little cool at altitude when it is time to jump from that airplane.
Some drop zones have suits you can wear but not all of them do.
If jumping when the weather is cool, wear layers that still allow you movement.
Now listen to me when I tell you this because it's important, and your instructor will also tell you this. Before you go on your tandem skydive make sure you take off your jewelry, empty your pockets of everything.
If you do not want to lose it, keep it on the ground.
If you are wearing contacts let your instructor know, he will give you goggles for contacts or glasses.
Now you're ready to make a tandem skydive.
Your named has been called, it's your turn.
Now different drop zones do different things to get you ready.
Some drop zones put you into your harness and you will meet the instructor at the plane.
Some drop zones have the instructor go over some simple instructions.
Like I said in the beginning it is not Rocket Science.
One thing to remember when your tandem harness is being put on, it has to be adjusted.
So, do not get hyper when the instructor hands are little too close to things that make you uncomfortable.
Remember these people are professionals.
Besides, most of the time the instructors will tell you what he or she is doing.
The tandem skydiving harness that you are wearing is what attaches you to your instructor, which is very important.
Your harness has four attachments that hook up to your tandem skydiving instructor.
You have two side hookups and two shoulder hookups.
These are the attachment points where you will be hooked up to your tandem skydiving instructor before you jump.

Boots Are Also Made For Riding
by: Maricon Williams
According to Jessica Simpson?s song, ?boots are made for walking?. However, boots are also good for riding escapades.
There are different kinds of boots that will suit every rider?s personality and performance. They are tour boots, race boots and shorty boots. Tour boots are long and slender boots that use a number of protection shells. Race boots, on the other hand, are a bit complicated and aesthetic. It uses armor shells on the impact area so as to secure the feet in times of collision. They also come in flashy colors and designs. Finally, we have shorty boots. These boots are lighter versions of the normal boots that we usually see.
When looking for a perfect fitting pair of boots, you must consider ventilation. Boots usually heats up feet faster that other shoe apparel. Therefore, it must have good ventilation system to make your feet comfortable yet precluding rain from coming...

Lightweight Backpacking
by: Steve Gillman
Lightweight backpacking or ultralight backpacking certainly enable you to travel more miles in a day. I can easily go farther in my running shoes, with my fifteen-pound pack on, than I could with heavy hiking boots and a forty-pound pack. That isn't all, though. Going light also means more comfort, more freedom and even more safety.
Disadvantages Of Traditional Backpacking
Less freedom. It isn't easy to take a side trip up that hill, just to see what's there. Do it without your pack, and you have to go back the same way to get your pack.
More tiring. It's clearly more tiring with a heavy pack, and you probably won't enjoy yourself as much when you are tired.
More Injuries. Blistered feet, sprained ankles, sore muscles, and back and knee problems are just some of the common consequences of too much weight on your back.
More hassle. Removing and putting on a heavy pack quickly becomes...

Backpacking Boots?
Backpacking Boots?
by: Steve Gillman
Backpacking boots or any of the traditional hiking boots may have their place. That place just isn't on my feet. If you don't have specific problems with your ankles, there isn't snow on the ground, and you don't carry more than thirty pounds on your back, try running shoes. You'll be so happy that you did.
Backpacking or hiking boots are heavy, hot, stinky, and stay wet forever. Decent running shoes can be as light as one pound per pair, while most hiking boots top three pounds. Army research showed that a pound on your feet is like five on your back (some say six), so three-pound boots naturally leave you more tired at the end of the day.
Backpacking Boots And Ankle Support
Some backpackers argue for the necessity of ankle support, but throughout history people managed without stiff ankle-supporting boots. Even if you are carrying thirty pounds on your back, consider the fact that there are people...

Choosing Hiking Boots
by: Marty Rubenski
If you?ve ever been 5 miles from the trailhead with painful blisters, or even a sprained ankle, you will appreciate how much your hiking enjoyment rests literally on your feet. The selection of the correct hiking boots can be the difference between a great experience and a disaster. The choice of the right pair of boots can add considerably to your comfort and personal safety, especially in rugged or difficult terrain.
Before you start comparing the many brands and styles of hiking boot, consider the type of terrain and your style of hiking. Do you take extended treks through the mountains or just stroll through the local park or greenbelt? Select a boot based on the most difficult terrain you will encounter. Do you carry a heavy pack? The heavier the pack the sturdier boot you will need. Are you an all-weather hiker? Do you need a lightweight breathable fabric or a heaver waterproof material?
Modern...
